Bitfinex, a digital asset exchange, has expanded its services in Latin America by launching a peer-to-peer (P2P) trading platform in Venezuela, Argentina, and Colombia. The Bitfinex P2P platform allows users to buy and sell various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, Tether, EURT, and Tether Gold.
Bitfinex’s Chief Technology Officer, Paolo Ardoino, explained that the move is part of the company’s efforts to promote digital asset-related financial services in Latin America. This expansion follows Bitfinex’s establishment in El Salvador through licensing and partnerships in Chile. The launch also comes after the closure of P2P crypto exchange LocalBitcoins and the temporary suspension of Paxful in the region.
