Apple has removed a fake Trezor wallet app from the App Store after a security researcher raised concerns about its presence. The malicious app, known as “Trezor Wallet Suite,” attempted to steal users’ cryptocurrency by requesting their seed phrases. However, other copycat apps with similar names are still present on the platform.
While Apple claims that all apps on its official store have been vetted and cleared for security purposes, instances of fraudulent crypto apps have occurred in the past. Users are advised to download mobile applications for crypto wallets from manufacturers’ official websites instead of relying solely on app stores.
