Terraform Labs Founder Do Kwon Denies Passport Forgery and Financial Ties in Montenegro Court

Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon denied allegations of passport forgery and financial ties to a European politician during a hearing in a Montenegro court. Kwon claimed that he received his Costa Rican and Belgian passports from third-party agencies and was unaware of their alleged forgery. He also denied making any financial donations to Milojko Spajić, the leader of Europe Now party and former finance minister of Montenegro. Kwon and former Terraform Labs CFO Han Chong-joon were arrested in March after being accused of falsifying passports in an attempt to leave Montenegro. They were initially granted bail but it was later reversed on appeal. On June 5, the appeal was dismissed and bail was granted again with certain conditions. The verdict on the forgery charges will be issued on June 19 and Kwon will be held in extradition custody for up to six months while South Korea’s extradition request is considered.
