Quivr is a new Web3 app that allows users to connect their favorite apps, such as Spotify, Steam, and Instagram, to generate behavior-based badges proving their interests. The badges are stored on the blockchain, providing proof of membership within communities and allowing users to identify others who share their interests. Quivr has already formed partnerships with celebrities and organizations to build communities through the app.
The app can connect to 11 different apps, and users’ behavior on these apps determines the badges they can acquire. If users want to record a credential that can’t be proven through one of these apps, they can upload a video or image and have it reviewed by community validators as an alternative form of proof.
Users can browse each other’s profiles and send private messages using Quivr. In the future, the team plans to create “community and subgroups around conversations” like a “validated Discord.” Quivr runs on the Polygon network and uses Magic SDK for logins instead of requiring users to download a separate wallet or store seed words.
While Quivr and other Web3 social apps have yet to challenge the likes of Facebook and Twitter, some experts believe that social apps will be the killer use case that brings blockchain technology to the masses.
